New Video Camera

Category:General

We have been finding that the new video camera that record in High Definition create issues for many people. High definition is clear and has great detail, but most consumers are not set up to use and view these files. In order to fit 1 - 2 hours of HD footage onto a DVD, the images are processed to fit the DVD. This process scrunches the footage to small file. The process takes several hours of computer time and a special conversion program is required. Roxio Toast (for MAC, and Creator for Windows can usually convert the HD footage. Your computer needs a lot of memory and disc space to do this. We can also do this for you. People in the industry are still not confident that Blue Ray is here to stay so we are not purchasing the costly equipment to put HD onto Blue Ray disc yet. The discs will hold HD files, they really should be together. So, if you are looking at purchasing or borrowing a video camera, you might consider shooting in basic DV mode and not HD.
